THE CROYDON (PROHIBITION AND RESTRICTION OF STOPPING, LOADING AND WAITING) AND (FREE PARKING PLACES) (NO.20) ORDER 2024

THE CROYDON (ON-STREET CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (NO. 20) ORDER 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council on 27 August 2024 made the above Traffic Orders under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

1. The general effect of the Orders will be to:

a) Revoke the disabled parking places in the vicinity of No. 38 Blenheim Park Road, South Croydon Road, No. 81 Burlington Road, Thornton Heath, No. 111 Bynes Road, South Croydon, No. 53 Church Road, Croydon, No. 26 Grove Road, Thornton Heath, No. 44 Leighton Gardens, South Croydon, No. 48 Orchard Rise, Croydon, and No. 29 Verdayne Avenue, Croydon.

b) Designate new parking places at which vehicles displaying a disabled persons’ badge may be left without charge or time limit in the following locations.

Burlington Road, Thornton Heath Outside Nos. 78 and 80
Chaucer Green, Croydon Outside No. 7
Colliers Water Lane, Thornton Heath Outside No. 65
Ellis Road, Coulsdon Adjacent to the flank wall of No. 9 Jutland Gardens
Farnborough Avenue, South Croydon Outside No. 54 Fernham Road, Thornton Heath Outside No. 2 and partially across the frontage of Parchmore Methodist Church
Leigh Crescent, New Addington Outside No. 18 (two wheels up - replaces one space in a partial footway parking bay)
Livingstone Road, Thornton Heath Outside No. 7 and partially outside the frontage of No. 9
Lower Church Street, Croydon Adjacent to the flank wall of No. 73 Waddon New Road (replaces one permit/payment space)
Maxwell Close, Croydon Outside No. 23 and partially across the frontage of No. 24
Parchmore Road, Thornton Heath Outside No. 268 and partially across the frontage of No. 270
Pembury Road, South Norwood Adjacent to the flank wall of Nos. 113-121 Portland Road (replaces one permit/payment space)
Ross Road, South Croydon Outside No. 60
South Drive, Coulsdon Outside No. 50
Stroud Green Way, Croydon Outside No. 44
Thorpe Close, New Addington Adjacent to the flank wall of Nos. 60-66 Thorpe Close

c) Amend the map-based tiles to the Schedule attached to the above Orders to accurately represent the new parking arrangements as they exist on site.

2. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on 02 September 2024, and of all associated Orders can be inspected between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday inclusive, until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made at Access Croydon, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA. Alternatively all related documents or further information can be requested by email to Parking.Design@croydon.gov.uk.

3. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made there under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may, within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
