ROYAL BOROUGH OF KINGSTON UPON THAMES

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames propose to make the following Order The Kingston upon Thames (Parking, Waiting, Loading and Stopping Restrictions) (Amendment No. *) Order 202* under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 19841, as amended

2. The principal objectives of the proposed Order are; (a) to introduce disabled bays to provide parking facility for disabled persons where a high level of parking makes reasonable means of access difficult, and (b) revoke those parking bays that are no longer required;

3. The general effect of the Order would be to:-

(a) Provide new disabled person’s parking places, 6.6 metres in length, in which vehicles displaying a disabled person’s badge may park at any time, at the following locations:-

(i) Outside No. 4 Albury Road, Chessington

(ii) Outside No. 93 Cambridge Road, Kingston (in place of the existing uncontrolled footway parking bay)

(iii) Adjacent Bewl House, 3 Dickerage Lane, New Malden

(iv) Outside Nos 2 to 12 Green Lane, Chessington

(v) Outside 70 and 70a Park Road, Kingston (in place of the existing Shared use Bay)

(vi) Outside Nos 5 to 8 Rowan Close, New Malden

(vii) Outside No. 21 Staunton Road, Kingston (in place of the existing Permit Holders Bay)

(b) Revoke existing disabled person’s parking places at the following locations:

(i) Outside No. 46 Burton Road, Kingston (reverts to a Permit Holders Bay)

(ii) Outside No. 88 Clifton Road, Kingston (reverts to a Permit Holders Bay)

(iii) Outside No. 24 Cotterill Road, Surbiton (iv) Outside No. 168 Douglas Road, Surbiton

(v) Outside No. 46 George Road, New Malden (reverts to a Permit Holders Bay)

4. Copies of the proposed Order, of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for proposing to make the Order and plans showing the location and the effect of the proposal may be inspected as follows:

(a) Online at https://www.kingston.gov.uk/tmos-open-statutory-consultation; selecting reference MapKing0095 – Disabled Bays Borough Wide

(b) The Information and Advice Centre, Guildhall 2, Kingston upon Thames, KT1 1EU between 9am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive

(c) Council libraries

(d) Copies of the made Order and plan can also be obtained by calling 020 8547 5000 (between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday)

6. NOTICE IS ALSO HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of London Borough of Sutton, as part of this proposal, and by the powers conferred under section 15 of the Greater London Council (General Powers) Act 1974 is resolving the following:

(a) Removal of existing length of uncontrolled footway parking outside No. 93 Cambridge Road, Kingston 3(a) item (ii) above
