APPLICATION FOR THE STOPPING UP OF HIGHWAYS
IN THE WEST GORTON AREA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Manchester intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Crown Square, Manchester on 28th November 2024 at 2pm for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of the lengths of highway specified in the Schedule hereto on the ground that they are unnecessary. A plan showing the said highways may be inspected, without payment at Customer Service Centre Ground Floor, Town Hall Extension M60 2LA (for Sat. Nav. use M2 5DB) between the hours of 9.00am and 4.30pm on Monday to Friday inclusive. Please ensure that the Contact Centre is open before attending. If it is closed or you are unable to attend, a copy of the plan may be requested (without payment) by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or writing to the address below. Any person intending to attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform me in writing to the address below or email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk, quoting reference L/VMU/HIG003/84052 before the date of the hearing.

An irregular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated 5.4 metres south of the southern boundary of Wenlock Way and 2.0 metres east of the eastern boundary of Skarratt Street and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 29 metres (shown as ‘1’ on the plan).
2. A rectangular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated 30 metres south of the southern boundary of Wenlock Way and 2.0 metres east of the eastern boundary of Skarratt Street and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 22 metres (shown as ‘2’ on the plan).
3. An irregular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated along the southern boundary of Wenlock Way at a distance of 101 metres east of the eastern boundary of Skarratt Street and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 37 metres (shown as ‘3’ on the plan).
4. An irregular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated 19 metres south of the southern boundary of Wenlock Way and of 101 metres east of the eastern boundary of Skarratt Street and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 38 metres (shown as ‘4’ on the plan).

A rectangular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated along the southern boundary of Wenlock Way at a distance of 149 metres east of the eastern boundary of Skarratt Street and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 15 metres (shown as ‘5’ on the plan).
6. An irregular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated along the western boundary of Kempley Close at a distance of 18 metres south of the southern boundary of Wenlock Way and running over the full width in a westerly direction for a distance of 44 metres (shown as ‘6’ on the plan).

An irregular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated along the northern boundary of Beastow Road at a distance of 20 metres east of the eastern boundary of Kelsall Street and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 103 metres (shown as ‘7’ on the plan).

A rectangular shaped area of highway commencing at a point situated along the southern boundary of Wenlock Way at a distance of 2.6 metres east of the eastern boundary of Kempley Close and running over the full width in an easterly direction for a distance of 10 metres (shown as ‘8’ on the plan).
