NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING SESSION

TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING (SCOTLAND) ACT 1997

NOTIFIED APPLICATION: CONSTRUCTION OF AN 18 HOLE GOLF COURSE, PRACTICE AREA, ACCESS, PARKING, ANCILLARY INFRASTRUCTURE AND THE CHANGE OF USE OF EXISTING BUILDINGS TO FORM CLUBHOUSE, PRO SHOP, MAINTENANCE SHED AND ANCILLARY FACILITIES AT COUL LINKS GOLF COURSE PROPOSAL LAND 1700M NW OF EMBO COMMUNITY CENTRE, SCHOOL STREET EMBO.

The Scottish Ministers, through the Scottish Government’s Planning and Environmental Appeals Division (DPEA) and under the terms of section 46 of the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997, are currently considering an application made to Highland Council by Communities for Coul Ltd in respect of the matter set out above. This application was called-in by Scottish Ministers for their own determination.

The reporter appointed to make a decision on this appeal will hold a hearing session on the following topics:

Matters to be considered at the hearing session:

• Ecology

• Tourism and socio-economic effects

• Matters of concern to the local community

• Conditions

The session will begin on 11 November 2024 at 10:00am within Embo Community Centre and is expected to will run for 5 days. This will include an evening session for the local community on 14 November 2024 beginning at 19:30 and is expected to take up to 3 hours.

Members of the public can follow the proceedings through the broadcast to the internet as part of DPEA’s webcasting service. The webcast recordings will be available to view at: http://dpea.public-i.tv/core/portal/home.
