HIGHWAYS ACT 1980

The A1307 (from a point 227 metres east of the mid-point of the roundabout island at Girton West Roundabout on the A1307 to a point 665 metres west of the signalised pedestrian crossing at the western arm of the junction of Huntingdon Road, Girton and Girton Road, Girton on the A1307) (Detrunking) Order 202x.

The Secretary of State hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under sections 10 and 12 of the Highways Act 1980 which will provide that a length of the A1307 Trunk Road from a point 227 metres east of the mid-point of the roundabout island at Girton West Roundabout on the A1307 to a point 665 metres west of the signalised pedestrian crossing at the western arm of the junction of Huntingdon Road, Girton and Girton Road, Girton on the A1307 shall cease to be a trunk road and shall be classified as a classified road from the date on which the Order comes into force. Cambridgeshire County Council will become the responsible highway authority for the road upon detrunking.

Copies of the draft Order and the plan referred to in it may be inspected free of charge at all reasonable hours in the 6 weeks commencing on 7 November 2024 at the offices of National Highways Limited at Woodlands Manton Lane Manton Industrial Estate Bedford MK41 7LW; and at Cambridgeshire County Council, Highways Depot, Stanton Way, Huntingdon PE29 6PY and may be viewed on the Cambridgeshire web site, infoservices@Cambridgeshire.Gov.UK. Copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may also be obtained, free of charge, from the address stated below (by quoting NATTRAN/NH/HAO/306.

Any person may object to the making of this Order within six weeks from the date of first publication of this notice by writing to the Secretary of State for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AR, or to nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk, quoting the title of the Order and stating the grounds of objection.

In submitting an objection or representation it should be noted that your personal data and correspondence will be shared with National Highways as the promoting authority for this scheme to enable your objection or representation to be considered. Should the Order become the subject of a Public Inquiry, all correspondence will be copied to the Inspector conducting the Inquiry and will be kept in the Public Inquiry library, where it is publicly available. If you do not wish your personal data to be forwarded, please state when submitting your objection and the Secretary of State will remove before forwarding your correspondence.
