The Secretary of State gives notice of an Order made under Section 247 of the above Act entitled "The Stopping up of Highway (North East) (No.29) Order 2024" authorising the stopping up of the whole of the footbridge including its steps to the south and its steps and access ramp to the north of A184 Askew Road at Gateshead in the Metropolitan Borough of Gateshead. This is to enable development as permitted by Gateshead Council, under reference DC/22/00008/FUL.

Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, from the Secretary of State, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne NE4 7AR or nationalcasework@dft.gov.uk (quoting NATTRAN/NE/S247/5790). They may also be inspected during normal opening hours at Gateshead Council, Civic Centre, Regent Centre, Gateshead, NE8 1HH.

Any person who wishes to challenge the validity of the decision to make the Order may apply to the High Court within 6 weeks from 20 November 2024.
