THE MAYOR AND BURGESSES OF THE LONDON BOROUGH OF ENFIELD

TOWN & COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Mayor and the Burgesses of the London Borough of Enfield hereby gives notice that they have made an Order under section 249 of the above Act to provide for the extinguishment of any rights persons may have to use vehicles on the following highways in the London Borough of Enfield:

i) the carriageway of Devonshire Road N13 which lies between the north-western kerb-line of Green Lanes N13 and a point 2 metres south-east of a point in line with the common boundary of Nos. 399 and 399c Green Lanes N13

Please note that the above-mentioned highway will remain adopted, and will continue to be maintained by the London Borough of Enfield in its role as Highway Authority.

The Order contains provisions for permitting the use of vehicles on these highways where the vehicle is a vehicle of any description and is using the highway:

(a) for police, ambulance or fire brigade purposes.

(b) in connection with the laying, erection, inspection, maintenance, alteration, repair, renewal or removal on or near the said lengths of highway of any sewer, main, pipe, conduit, wire cable or other apparatus for the supply of gas, water, electricity or of any telecommunication apparatus as defined in Schedule 2 to the Telecommunications Act 1984.

(c) by the local authority in pursuance of their statutory powers and duties.

Copies of the Order and relevant plan may be inspected at all reasonable hours (Monday to Fridays, 9am – 5pm inclusive) during the 42 days commencing on 20th November 2024, at the Town Library, 66 Church Street, Enfield EN2 6AX. Digital copies may also be obtained (free of charge) by emailing traffic@enfield.gov.uk quoting the reference TMO1503/S249

Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof or any provision contained therein on the ground that it is not within the powers of the Act or that any requirement of the Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or any provision contained therein.
