1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Croydon Council propose to make the above Traffic Order under Section 6 and 124 of Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended and all other enabling powers.

2. (a) The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce prohibitions on any motorised vehicle entering the streets/sections of streets listed below during the periods between 8am and 9.30am and 2pm and 4pm, Monday to Friday, with an exemption for those holding a valid permit in relation to the pedestrian and cycle zone in that street/section of street, issued by the Council. The restrictions will be enforced during school term time.

Bygrove, Croydon. Entire length of road
Furze Road, Thornton Heath. Entire length of road
Propeller Crescent, Croydon From No. 1 Propeller Crescent to the junction with Purley Way adjacent to Harris Primary Academy, Purley Way.

Sylvan Road Area, Upper Norwood:

a) Sylvan Road

b) Kitley Gardens

c) Cantley Gardens

d) Maberley Road

e) Windall Close

a) Between the common boundary of Nos. 14 and 16 Sylvan Road and its junction with Maberley Road.

b) Entire length of road

c) Entire length of road

d) Between its junctions with Sylvan Road and Mowbray Road

e) Entire length of road

(b) The restrictions will not apply to vehicles being used for police, ambulance, or fire service purposes, to liveried vehicles providing a universal postal service or to vehicles in the service of the local authority being used in pursuance of statutory powers or duties.

3. A copy of the proposed Orders and all related documents can be inspected from the date of this notice until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders were made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Order, between 9am and 4pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive at the Enquiry Counter, "Access Croydon" Facility, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, Surrey, CR0 1EA. Alternatively, further information or a copy of the documents may be obtained by telephoning Croydon Council on 020 8726 6000 and asking for the Highway Improvement Team.

5. Persons desiring to object to the proposed Orders should make a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof via the “get involved” page at https://www.getinvolved.croydon.gov.uk/healthy-school-streets-group-5-statutory-consultation Alternatively, persons wishing to object can write to the Highway Improvement Team, 3rd Floor, Zone C, Bernard Weatherill House, 8 Mint Walk, Croydon, CR0 1EA by 5 January 2025, ensuring that the relevant proposed school street location is clearly stated.
