THE CITY OF WESTMINSTER (WAITING AND LOADING RESTRICTION) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Westminster City Council proposes to make the above Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.

2. The general effect of the Orders would be, in connection with the redevelopment of Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street:

(a) on the south side of Blandford Street, to:

(i) introduce a “Blue Badge” disabled persons’ parking place (5 metres) adjacent to Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street;

(ii) relocate the car club parking place adjacent to Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street westward by 32.5 metres;

(iii) shorten the pay-by-phone parking place adjacent to Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street by 5.5 metres (1 bay);

(iv) extend the pay-by-phone parking place opposite No. 106 by 5 metres (1 bay);

(v) extend the residents’ parking place adjacent to Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street by 1 metre;

(vi) extend the single yellow line waiting restrictions (operating between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Monday to Saturday) adjacent to Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street by 4 metres; and

(vii) remove 2.9 metres of double yellow line “at any time” waiting and loading restrictions at its junction with Baker Street; and

(b) on the north side of George Street, to:

(i) remove 2.7 metres of loading restrictions (operating between 8.30 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. on Monday to Saturday) from opposite No. 87; and

(ii) extend the residents' parking place adjacent to Nos. 19 - 35 Baker Street westward by 6.7 metres.

Please note that the City Council intends to also introduce an electric vehicle residents’ parking place on the north side of George Street, opposite No. 55, following a public consultation in 2022. This parking place, which will replace 6 metres of residents’ parking, was not installed at that time due to the ongoing development works at Nos. 19 – 35 Baker Street.

3. The proposed Orders and other documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders are available for inspection until six weeks have elapsed from the date on which either the Orders are made or the Council decides not to make the Orders at http://westminstertransportationservices.co.uk/notices and, in person by appointment only, at Westminster City Hall 64 Victoria Street, London, SW1E 6QP, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays (except bank / public holidays). 5. All objections must specify the grounds on which they are made.
