ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – SECTION 23 – PROVISION OF A PARALLEL ZEBRA CROSSING

THE ISLINGTON (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

THE ISLINGTON (FREE PARKING PLACES, LOADING PLACES AND WAITING, LOADING AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO. *) ORDER 202*

1) NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Islington, after having consulted with the London Borough of Hackney, proposes to make the above-mentioned Orders under Sections 6, 23, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and of all other powers thereunto enabling.

2) The general effect of the Orders would be to:

a) on the south-western side of Boleyn Road, between its junctions with Matthias Road/Wordsworth Road and Mildmay Road/Crossway:

i) at its junction with Wordsworth Road, adjust the centreline of the existing parallel zebra crossing approx. 9.7 metres to the north-west, and add provisions for cycle crossing;

a) adjust the ‘no stopping’ restrictions (zig-zag lines) for that crossing approx. 13.7 metres and 3.7 metres to the north-west;

ii) north of its junction with Shellgrove Road, introduce a new parallel zebra crossing. The centreline for this crossing will be approx. 6 metres north of that junction;

a) introduce ‘no stopping’ restrictions (zig-zag lines) on either side of that crossing, extending approx. 13 metres south-eastwards and 17.3 metres north-westwards;

iii) revoke all existing parking bays (approx. 115 metres of resident parking and 16 metres of electric vehicle parking) and replace with ‘no waiting or loading at any time’ restrictions;

iv) adjust the northbound (towards Finsbury Park) Boleyn Road bus stop approx. 0.5 metres north-west and shorten to a total length of 12 metres;

v) adjust the existing ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions to the new kerb layout;

vi) introduce ‘no loading at any time’ restrictions where there already exists ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions; and

b) on Mildmay Road, at its junction with Wolsey Road:

i) north-west of that junction, remove 6.5 metres of shared-use parking on its northern side and 10.7 metres of resident parking on its southern side;

ii) south-east of that junction, remove 10.2 metres of resident parking on its northern side and 10 metres of resident parking on its southern side;

iii) relocate the existing car club bays 12.4 metres to the south-east;

iv) replace all removed parking described in 2(b)(i) and (ii) with ‘no waiting or loading at any time’ restrictions, and introduce ‘no loading at any time’ restrictions where there already exists ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions; and

v) align the new and existing ‘no waiting or loading at any time’ and ‘School Keep Clear’ markings to the new kerb layout;

c) on Wolsey Road, south of its junction with Mildmay Road:

i) remove 8.5 metres of resident parking on its eastern side and the permit holder bay on its western side, and replace with ‘no waiting or loading at any time’ restrictions;

ii) relocate the existing bike hangar 11.5 metres to the south;

iii) outside No. 1a Wolsey Road, replace the existing ‘no waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am-6.30pm Sat 8.30am-1.30pm’ restriction and extend the existing resident parking 3.8 metres to the north;

iv) replace all removed parking described in 2(c)(i) with ‘no waiting or loading at any time’ restrictions;

v) introduce ‘no loading at any time’ restrictions where there already exists ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions; and

vi) align the new and existing ‘no waiting or loading at any time’ markings to the new kerb layout;

d) on Auriga Mews, replace the ‘no waiting at any time’ restrictions with a restricted parking zone.

4) Any person who wishes to object, or to make other representations about the proposed Orders should send a statement in writing, specifying the grounds on which they are made to Islington Environment, P O Box 2025, PERSHORE, WR10 9BU (quoting reference 8236), within the period of twenty-one days from the date on which this Notice is published.
