TAKE NOTICE that HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL as local highway authority for Hertfordshire intends to apply to St Albans Magistrates’ Court, sitting at The Civic Centre, St Peter's Street, St. Albans, AL1 3LB on the 26th March 2025 at 10am for an Order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980 authorising the stopping up of part of the highway known as Hatfield Weighbridge, Oldings Corner, Comet Way, Hatfield AL9 5JJ in the district of Welwyn Hatfield and shown coloured pink and hatched black on the plan labelled “Proposed Stopping-Up, Hatfield Weighbridge, Comet Way, Hatfield” (“the Plan”) on the grounds that it is unnecessary.

The Plan is available for inspection during normal office hours at Front Reception, Hertfordshire County Council, County Hall, Hertford SG13 8DE from 9.00 a.m to 4.00 p.m on Monday to Friday. On the hearing of the application at St Albans Magistrates’ Court on the date aforesaid, the application authority, any persons to whom Notice is required to be given under paragraph 1 of the 12th Schedule to the Highways Act 1980, any person who uses the highway and any other person who would be aggrieved by the making of the Order applied for shall have the right to be heard.
