The Department for Communities has made a Statutory Rule entitled the Pneumoconiosis, etc., (Workers’ Compensation) (Payment of Claims) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2025 (S.R. 2025 No. 36), which comes into operation on 1 April 2025 or the day after it is affirmed by resolution of the Assembly if later.

These Regulations, one of a series of statutory rules relating to the annual up-rating of social security benefits and pensions, amend the Pneumoconiosis, etc., (Workers’ Compensation) (Payment of Claims) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1988 to increase the amounts payable under the Pneumoconiosis, etc., (Workers’ Compensation) (Northern Ireland) Order 1979 by 1.7 per cent in line with the up-rating of industrial injuries benefits.
