NOTICE OF FORFEITURE, PART 5, S298
PROCEEDS OF CRIME ACT 2002
On the 21st November 2023, cash totalling £18,880 was seized by Police Officers from the balcony of Flat 22 Jellicoe House, Hemel Hempstead, HP1 1DA.
On the 30th November 2023, this cash was made subject of an initial Detention Order at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court in accordance with Section 295 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002. Further Cash Detention Orders were granted at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on 21st May 2024 and 7th November 2024.
The Eastern Region Special Operations Unit believe the cash, plus interest accrued, or part of it is:
(a) recoverable property, or
(b) intended by any person for use in unlawful conduct.
and therefore, pursuant to Section 298 of the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, are seeking for the funds to be forfeited at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court, Danesgate, Stevenage, SG1 1XH on 14th April 2025 at 1000 hours.
If any person wishes to object to the proposed forfeiture, they should contact the below quoting: 2023-02442. An objection means a written objection sent to the Proceeds of Crime Unit, Eastern Region Special Operations Unit (ERSOU):

An objection is made when it is received at the address by post or email. Alternatively an objection can be made in person at Stevenage Magistrates’ Court on 14th April 2025.
If no person objects to the application, the Forfeiture Order will be sought on 14th April 2025.
