application of the EC Electronic

Communications Directives in the UK from 25th July 2003

Notice is hereby given that from 25th July 2003, the required framework for the transposition of the EC Electronic Communications Directives, namely Directive 2002/19/EC (Access Directive); Directive 2002/20/EC (Authorisation Directive); Directive 2002/21/EC (Framework Directive) and Directive 2002/22/EC (Universal Service Directive) will have been implemented in the United Kingdom by the Communications Act 2003, which received Royal Assent on the 17th July 2003 and through the making of the Electronic Communications (Universal Service) Order 2003, the Wireless Telegraphy (Limitation of Number of Licences) Order 2003 and the Advanced Television Services Regulations 2003.
