Public Notification of an Application made under Regulation 10 of the Pollution

Prevention and Control (Northern Ireland) Regulations 2003

Integrated Pollution Prevention Control

Notice is hereby given that Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Limited have applied to the Chief Inspector for an Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control (IPPC) permit to operate an installation involving the Disposal of Waste Oils (other than by incineration or landfill) in a facility of more than 10 tonnes per day. The installation is to be located at Harland and Wolff Heavy Industries Limited, Queen’s Island, in the District of Belfast in the County of Antrim.

The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.

Information relating to the above IPPC application for a permit to operate the Harland and Wolff Slops Facility is held in registers at the following locations:

Waste & Contaminated Land Unit, Commonwealth House, 35 Castle Street, Belfast BT1 1GU.

Belfast City Council, Cecil Ward Building, 4-10 Linenhall Street, Belfast BT2 8BP.

Members of the public can inspect these registers free of charge at the above stated addresses during normal office hours. In addition, members of the public who wish to obtain a copy of the relevant information contained in the registers can do so upon the payment of a reasonable charge to cover the costs of copying.

Any objections or representations to the above IPPC application should be made in writing to the Chief Inspector at the address below, within 42 days from the date of this public notice.

Any such objections or representations will be entered into a public register unless the person making them requests in writing that they should not be so placed. If there is such a request, the register will only include a statement that representations have been made that have been the subject of such a request.
