ENVIRONMENT (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 2002

PART III ARTICLE 12(1)

AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT ORDERS

Newry and Mourne District Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Part III, Article 12(1) of the Environment (Northern Ireland) Order 2002, hereby makes the following Orders.

Newry (Canal Street) Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (Water Street) Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (Bridge Street) Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (St Mary Street) Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (Kilmorey Street) Air Quality Management Order 2006

These Orders shall come into effect on 11th April 2006.

The areas designated as Air quality Management Areas (designated areas) are displayed in map form and can be viewed by visiting the Public Display at the Council Offices, Monaghan Row, Newry, from the 1st March 2006 to 11th April 2006.

The designated areas incorporate residential properties abutting the following roads:

(i) Canal Street
(ii) Water Street, Lower Water Street and North Street
(iii) Bridge Street and Basin View Terrace
(iv) St Mary Street
(v) Kilmorey street and River Street

The areas are designated in relation to a likely breach of the Particulate Matter (PM 10) (daily mean) objective and nitrogen dioxide (annual mean) objective as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003.

These Orders shall remain in force until they are varied or revoked by a subsequent order.

The Common Seal of Newry and Mourne District Council was hereto affixed to each Order on 22nd February 2006.
