     ENVIRONMENT (NORTHERN IRELAND) ORDER 2002 PART III ARTICLE 12(1)

Air Quality Management Order

Newry and Mourne District Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Part III, Article 12 (4) (b) of the Environment (Northern Ireland) Order 2002, revoked the following Air Quality Management Orders on the 5th August 2009.

Newry (Canal Street)

Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (Water Street)

Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (Bridge Street)

Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (St Mary Street)

Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry (Kilmorey Street)

Air Quality Management Order 2006

Newry and Mourne District Council, in exercise of the powers conferred upon it by Part III, Article 12(1) of the Environment (Northern Ireland) Order 2002, hereby makes the Newry (Urban Centre) Air Quality Management Order 2009.

This Order came into effect on 5th August 2009.

The area designated as an Air Quality Management Area (designated area) is displayed in map form and can be viewed by visiting the Public Display at the Council Offices, Monaghan Row, Newry, from the 10th August 2009 to 11th September 2009.

The designated area has a boundary which is coterminous with the boundary of the existing Newry City smoke control areas.

The area is designated in relation to a likely breach of the nitrogen dioxide (annual mean) objective as specified in the Air Quality Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003.

This Order shall remain in force until it is varied or revoked by a subsequent order.

The Common Seal of Newry and Mourne District Council was hereto affixed to the Order on 4th August 2009.
