(NORTHERN IRELAND) 1985 (AS AMENDED)

GENERAL IMPORT LICENCE

Licence No: DARD/GEN/09/10

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in accordance with the above legislation, hereby authorises subject to the conditions attached to this licence the landing in Northern Ireland of:-

MEAT, MEAT PRODUCTS (INCLUDING POULTRY AND GAME MEAT), MILK AN MILK PRODUCTS

ORIGINATING FROM

THE FAROE ISLANDS, GREENLAND, ICELAND AND CROATIA

Subject to the following conditions:

1. The products must form part of a traveller’s personal luggage, or be sent by post or carrier (other than by way of trade or as a trade sample) and be addressed to a private individual in Northern Ireland.
2. The combined total weight of the products in any traveller’s luggage or in any consignment sent by post or carrier to a private individual must not exceed 10 kilograms.
3. The products must be intended for the personal consumption of the traveller or the addressee, as is appropriate.
4. The products must not be subject to any prohibition by any European Community legislation or by any domestic restrictions in force on the date of import.
5. This licence revokes and replaces DARD/GEN/04/08 of 17 November 2004 and will remain valid until further notice unless revoked by the Department.

 NOTES

1. Any breach of any conditions attached to this licence will constitute an offence against the Diseases of Animals (Northern Ireland) Order 1981.
2. Consignments landed in contravention of this licence are liable to be seized and destroyed without compensation.
3. Products in which trade is prohibited by a Declaration issued under Regulation 61 of the Products of Animal Origin (Third Country Imports) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2007 (as amended) may not be imported under this licence.
4. Nothing in this licence gives exemption from any prohibition or restriction imposed by the Imported Food Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1997, the provisions of the Food Safety Order (Northern Ireland) 1991 and Regulations made under it, the Animal By-Products (Identification) (Amendment) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2003, the Marketing Authorisations for Veterinary Medicine Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2008 or any regulation superseding or amending the same.
5. It is the importer’s responsibility to ensure that any import covered by this licence complies with the terms and conditions as set out.
