POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2000

In accordance with paragraph 5 of schedule 4 to the above regulations, Notice is hereby given that application has been made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) for a Permit under regulation 7 of the Regulations by Alcan Primary Metal-Europe, in respect of activities being carried out namely, the electrolytic production of aluminium from alumina and landfill + disposal to land (hazardous and non-hazardous) in an installation at Lochaber Smelter, Fort William PH33 6TH.

This application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.

This application may be inspected, free of charge, at SEPA, Graesser House, Fodderty Way, Dingwall, IV15 9XB, or at the SEPA Fort William Office, Carr’s Corner Industrial Estate, Fort William, PH33 6TL, during normal office hours. Please quote Reference No PPC/N/50007.

Written representation concerning this application may be made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency at the above address, or sent to e-mail address DingwallRegistry@sepa.org.uk and if received within 28 days of this Notice, will be taken into consideration in determining the application. Any such representations made by any person will be entered in a public register unless that person requests in writing that they should not be so entered. Where such a request is made there will be included in the register a statement indicating that representations have been made which have been the subject of such a request.
