POLLUTION PREVENTION AND CONTROL (SCOTLAND) REGULATIONS 2000

In accordance with paragraph 5 of Schedule 4 to the above Regulations, Notice is hereby given that application has been made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) for a Permit under regulation 7 of the Regulations by The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) in respect of activities being carried out namely production of non-ferrous metals from concentrates or secondary raw materials by chemical activities in an installation at Dounreay, by Thurso, Caithness, Scotland KW14 7TZ.

The application contains a description of any foreseeable significant effects of emissions from the installation on the environment.

The application may be inspected, free of charge, at SEPA, Graesser House, Fodderty Way, Dingwall, IV15 9XB or at the SEPA Thurso Office, Thurso Business Park, Thurso, during normal office hours. Please quote Reference No PPC/N/50006.

Written representation concerning this application may be made to the Scottish Environment Protection Agency at the above address, or sent to e-mail address DingwallRegistry@sepa.org.uk and if received within 28 days of this Notice, will be taken into consideration in determining the application. Any such representations made by any person will be entered in a public register unless that person requests in writing that they should not be so entered. Where such a request is made there will be included in the register a statement indicating that representations have been made which has been the subject of such a request.
