NOTICE OF APPLICATIONS FOR CONSENT IN PURSUANCE OF SECTION 34
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with section 36(1)(a) of the Control of Pollution Act 1974 (As Amended), that the following applications for consent to discharge have been made to SEPA by Scottish Water:
Ref No WPC/W/71954:
Up to 918.5 cubic metres per day of treated sewage effluent from a new sewage treatment works at Dunure to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 251 164.
Ref No WPC/W/71955:
Up to 345.6 cubic metres per day of storm sewage from a combined sewer overflow at Dunure Pumping Station Number 1, Dunure, to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 253 160.
Up to 444.4 cubic metres of sewage from an emergency overflow at Dunure Pumping Station Number 1, Dunure, to Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 253 160.*
Ref No WPC/W/71956:
Up to 5244.5 cubic metres per day of storm sewage from a combined sewer overflow at Dunure Pumping Station Number 2, Dunure, to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 255 163.
Up to 6160.3 cubic metres of sewage from an emergency overflow at Dunure Pumping Station Number 2, Dunure, to the Firth of Clyde at National Grid Reference NS 255 163.*
* It should be noted that this proposed discharge of sewage is an emergency discharge and will only occur in the event of power failure or breakdown of the sewage pumping station.
Any person who wishes to make representations about any of the applications should do so in writing to the Registrar, SEPA, 5 Redwood Crescent, Peel Park, East Kilbride, Glasgow G74 5PP, not later than 1 March 2005, quoting the appropriate reference number.
