Note . The Scheme that follows this Note is made under Section 89 of the Postal Services Act 2000 and amends the Successor Postal Services Company Inland Letter Post Scheme 2001. This Scheme, which comes into force on 1st February 2010, sets out changes to the Local Collect Service described in section 41A and the Fees payable for its use as set out in paragraph 21 of Schedule 1.

Royal Mail Group Ltd (a) by virtue of the powers conferred upon it by section 89 of the POSTAL SERVICES ACT 2000 (b) and of all other powers enabling it in this behalf, hereby makes the following Scheme:

Commencement, citation and interpretation

1.  This Scheme shall come into operation on 1st February 2010 and may be cited as the Royal Mail Group Limited Inland Letter Post Scheme (Amendment No.28) 2010.

2.  This Scheme shall be read as one with the Successor Postal Services Company Inland Letter Post Scheme 2001(c) (hereinafter called “the Scheme”) as previously amended by:

PART 3: SPECIAL CONDITIONS

Sections 41A.3, (but not sub-section 41A3.1) and 41A.4, of the Scheme shall be deleted and the following substituted :

41A. LOCAL COLLECT

41A.3 Business wishing to use the Local Collect service must purchase and use LC004 labels to designate that the postal packet upon which it is used is subject to local collect and may be sent;

41 A.4 Deleted

41A.3.2 Deleted

Schedule 1: Postage Rates and Fees

Paragraph 21 of Schedule 1 of the Scheme shall be deleted and the following substituted:

21. LOCAL COLLECT

For Local Collect Business the fee payable is £1.00 per LC004 label, per item .

For Local Collect Social the fee payable by the addressee requesting the service is £1.50 per item .
