NOTICE OF SEIZURE UNDER THE CUSTOMS AND EXCISE MANAGEMENT ACT 1979
Pursuant to Section 139(6) of the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979, (“the Act”) and paragraph 1 of Schedule 3 thereto, the Commissioners of Revenue and Customs give notice that by virtue of the powers contained in the Customs and Excise Acts, certain items, namely:—
1 (No) RHIB constructed by Crompton Marine (UK) Ltd of Lowestoft, being 18m long and powered by 8(No) 250 HP Yamaha petrol VX outboard motors.
Have been seized as liable to forfeiture by force of the following provisions namely:—
1. Section 88(a) of the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 whereby a ship is or has been within the limits of any port or within 3 or, being a British ship, 12 nautical miles of the coast of the United kingdom, while constructed, adapted, altered or fitted in any manner for the purpose of concealing goods, that ship, aircraft or vehicle shall be liable to forfeiture.
If you are not the owner of the said items please pass this notice to the owner.
If you claim that the said items are not liable to forfeiture you must, within one month from the date of this notice of seizure, give notice of your claim in writing in accordance with paragraphs 3 and 4 of Schedule 3 to the Customs and Excise Management Act 1979 to:

If you are outside the United Kingdom and the Isle of Man you must also give the name and address of a Solicitor in the United Kingdom who is authorised to accept service of process and act on your behalf.
If you do not give notice of claim within the period of one month or, if any requirement of the above-mentioned paragraph 4 is not complied with, the items in question will be deemed to have been duly condemned as forfeited.
If you do give notice of claim in proper form, the Commissioners will take legal proceedings for the condemnation of the said goods.
