Public Notice affecting Paul Street, Taunton

Notice is hereby given that Taunton Deane Borough Council proposes to make an Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) and (2), 4(1) and Part III of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit the driving of vehicles into a cross-hatched yellow box junction bounded by a yellow line placed on the north-eastern half of the carriageway of Paul Street, Taunton (immediately outside the junction into the new Marks and Spencer car park), approximately 25 metres from its junction with Mary Street/Billetfield.
  The prohibition will not apply in relation to vehicles used for Police, Fire Brigade, Ambulance or civil defence purposes.
  Full details of the proposal are in the draft Order which, together with a map showing the length of road concerned and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be inspected at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, Taunton, during normal office hours.
  If you wish to object to the proposed Order you should send your objections, in writing, to reach the undersigned by 30th January 1998.
