MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL
Application for Orders authorising the stopping-up of parts of Outwood Lane, Woodhouse Park, Manchester
Notice is hereby given that the Council of the City of Manchester intend to apply
to the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Crown Square, Manchester, on
Thursday, 5th February 1998, at 2 p.m., for Orders under section 116 of the Highways
Act 1980, authorising the stopping-up of the highways specified in the Schedule hereto
on the grounds that the highways are unnecessary.
A plan showing the said highways may be inspected, without payment, at my office,
Room 601, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays.
Any person who would be aggrieved by the making of the said Orders may appear before
the Court and make objections or representations thereto. Any person intending to
attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform me, quoting reference
L/ED/4179, before the date of the hearing of their intention to appear.

Schedule
Parts of Outwood Lane, Woodhouse Park comprising of:
(a) the central reservation and east carriageway of Outwood Lane from the south
kerb-line of the Outwood Lane roundabout for a distance of 24 metres southwards as
measured along the centreline of the central reservation shown as area numbered 1
on the plan;
(b) (i) a triangular area of the west carriageway 0 metres in width at the south
side of the zebra crossing at a point 27 metres south of the south kerb-line of the
Outwood Lane roundabout increasing to 4 metres in width at the south end of the central
reservation at a distance of 31 metres south from the zebra crossing;
(ii) the central reservation and east carriageway and footway from the south
side of the zebra crossing at a point 27 metres south of the south kerb-line of the
Outwood Lane roundabout to the south end of the central reservation, a distance of
31 metres;
(iii) the length of Outwood Lane, over its full width, from the south end of
the central reservation to a point on the north side of the proposed access to the
BAMA terminal drop-off area, a distance of 101.20 metres, shown as area numbered 2
on the plan.
