Extension of Putney Controlled Parking Zone (Sub Zone A1) Embankment S.W.15

Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Wandsworth, on 5th January 1998, made the following Orders under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985:   The Wandsworth (Putney) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1998;   The Wandsworth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Special Parking Areas) (Amendment No. 21) Order 1998.   2. The general effect of the Orders will be to extend the boundary of the A1 sub zone of the Putney controlled parking zone including Nos. 5 to 7 Embankment.   3. The Orders will provide that:   A residents parking place will be designated outside Nos. 5 to 7 Embankment at which vehicles displaying a valid residents’ permit (relating to sub zone A1) or a valid visitors’ permit may be left during the permitted hours (8.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. on Mondays to Saturdays).   Residents’ permits will be available, on application being made to the Council, to any person residing within the A1 sub-zone of the Putney controlled parking zone, who is the owner of a vehicle, upon payment of the appropriate charge (£41 for an annual permit). Residents may also purchase up to 30 visitors’ permits (sixty if the applicant is aged 60 or over) a year costing £2 each (£1 if the applicant is aged 60 or over).   4. A copy of each of the Orders, which will come into operation on 12th January 1998, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Orders, including a drawing showing the location of the parking place, can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made in The Concourse, The Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU.   5. Copies of the Orders may be obtained from the Council’s Administration Department, Room 153, the Town Hall, Wandsworth High Street, London SW18 2PU (telephone 0181-871 7520).   6. Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements of that Act or of any relevant regulations made under that Act have not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
