Paddington Station Area

Notice is hereby given that the Westminster City Council on 7th January 1998, made the City of Westminster (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Order 1998, and the City of Westminster (Parking Place) (Revocation No. 1) Order 1998, under sections 6, 45 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985.   Notice of proposal to make the above-mentioned Orders appeared in The London Gazette, Issue No. 54306, dated 2nd February 1998, under Ref. No. 579. The effects of the Orders which relate to the Paddington Station Area, are as described in that Notice, except that buses will continue to be able to make the right turn from Spring Street into Praed Street.   A copy of the Orders, which will come into force on 11th January 1998, of a plan which shows the locations and effects of the Orders and of alternative routes for diverted traffic, of the City of Westminster (Parking Places) Order 1968, (and of the Orders which have previously amended or applied that Order), and of the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Orders, can be inspected between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until 18th February 1998, at Hyder Consulting Ltd., Third Floor, 29 Bressenden Place, London SW1E 5DZ.   Any person desiring to question the validity of either of the Orders or of any provision contained therein, on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to either of the Orders, may make application for the purpose to the High Court by 18th February 1998.
