Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that J.C. & M.A. Martin, of 69 Elwyn Road, March, Cambridgeshire PE15 9DA, are applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water as follows:

  (a) to abstract 37.88 cubic metres per hour, 909.2 cubic metres per day and 40,915 cubic metres per year between 1st November and 31st March the following year from a private dyke and the Sixth District Drain at National Grid References TL 389 996 and TL 389 997, in the March Sixth Internal Drainage District at Westry, March parish, Fenland district, Cambridgeshire, to fill a winter storage reservoir at Westry Farm;
  (b) to reabstract an equivalent quantity of water at 436.4 cubic metres per hour, 6,983 cubic metres per day and 40,915 cubic metres per year at Westry Farm, Moores and Crowden Farm and Grandford Farm between National Grid References TL 404 985, TL 398 007, TL 396 011, TL 377 009, TL 370 983 and TL 397 980, March parish, Fenland district, Cambridgeshire.

  The water is for spray irrigation purposes between 1st April and 30th September each year following compensatory discharges from the reservoir into underground pipeline and drains and dykes contiguous to the land. The land is all within the March Sixth and the March and Whittlesey Internal Drainage Districts.
  A copy of the application and any map, plan or other document submitted may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at the Westry Farm, Wisbech Road, March, Cambridgeshire PE15 0BA, between 16th January 1998 and 13th February 1998.
  Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, Central Area, Bromholme Lane, Brampton, Huntingdon PE18 8NE, before the end of the said period.
