Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that J. N. Sykes & Sons, of North Milford Grange, Tadcaster, North Yorkshire LS24 9DG, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole in the Sherwood Sandstone, at National Grid Reference SE 5583 3501, at Woodfield House Farm, Cawood Common, Selby, in the Cawood Parish of the Selby District of North Yorkshire.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 30 cubic metres per hour, 500 cubic metres per day, 37,000 cubic metres between 1st May and 30th September each year. The water will be used to provide reservoir storage for subsequent spray irrigation of arable crops.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours, at Wood End Farm, Bishopdyke Road, Cawood, Selby, between 22nd January 1998 and 25th February 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Licensing Section, Dales Area, Coverdale House, Aviator Court, Clifton Moor, York YO3 4UZ, before the end of the said period.
