The Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 58) Traffic Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Bexley, on 19th January 1998, made the above Order under sections 6 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by section 8 of and Part 1 of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.   The general effect of the Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. 58) Traffic Order 1998, will be to further amend the Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restrictions) Order 1991, so that “At Any Time” waiting restrictions will apply in parts of Blackfen Road, Parish Gate Drive and Rider Close, Sidcup.   The prohibitions referred to will not apply in respect of anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform or in certain circumstances, e.g. the picking-up or setting down of passengers; the carrying out of statutory powers or duties; the taking in of petrol, etc., from roadside petrol stations; to licensed street traders, etc. The usual exemptions relating to vehicles displaying a disabled person’s “Orange Badge” will apply.   A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 26th January 1998, of the Bexley (Waiting and Loading Restriction) Order 1991 (and of the Orders that have amended that Order), the Council’s statement of reasons for making the Order and of the maps which indicate the length of road to which the Order relates can be inspected during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, in (a) Chief Engineer’s Department, Sidcup Place, Sidcup, Kent DA14 6BT, and (b) The Information Centre, Bexley Civic Offices, Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB.   Copies of the Order may be purchased from the Chief Engineer’s Department, London Borough of Bexley, Room 20, Sidcup Place, Sidcup, Kent DA14 6BT.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
