LONDON BOROUGH OF BEXLEY
The Bexley (Prescribed Route) (No. ) Traffic Order 199
Notice is hereby given that the London Borough of Bexley propose to make the above-mentioned
Order under sections 6 and 124 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended
by section 8 of and Part I of Schedule 5 to the Local Government Act 1985.
The general effect of the Bexley (Prescribed Route) (No. ) Traffic Order 199
would be to close parts of:
(a) Erith High Street;
(b) Pier Road, Erith; and
(c) Appold Street, Erith;
to vehicular traffic (with exemptions to certain vehicles in each case) and provide
a slip road in the High Street for cars exiting from the multi-storey car park and
an accessway for vehicles entering Erith Small Business Centre from the new car park
and revoke the existing one-way working in Pier Road and Avenue Road, Erith, and the
existing compulsory left turn from Queens Street into Erith High Street.
A copy of the proposed Order, the Bexley (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Traffic Order
1973, a plan showing the length of road to which the Order relates, the Council’s
statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order, can be inspected during normal
office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, until the expiration of a period of
21 days from the date on which this notice is published in (a) Chief Engineer’s Department,
Sidcup Place, Sidcup, Kent DA14 6BT; (b) The Information Centre, Bexley Civic Offices,
Broadway, Bexleyheath, Kent DA6 7LB; and (c) Erith Library, Walnut Tree Road, Erith,
during the normal opening times of the library.

Any person desiring to object to the proposed Order, should send a statement in
writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Chief Engineer, London Borough
of Bexley, Sidcup Place, Sidcup, Kent DA14 6BT, within the above-mentioned period
of 21 days.
Persons objecting to the proposed Order should be aware that in view of the Local
Government (Access to information) Act 1985, this Council would be legally obliged
to make any comments received in response to this notice, open to public inspection.
