Notice of Adoption of Proposals for the Copeland Local Plan
Notice is hereby given that on 24th June 1997, Copeland Borough Council adopted these plan proposals with modification. The Secretary of State was satisfied that the necessary modifications had been made to comply with his direction to the authority to modify the proposals. The adopted proposals will form part of the development plan for Copeland Borough Council. The development plan forms the basis for decisions on land-use planning affecting that area. Copies of the adopted proposals and of the Secretary of State’s notification that he was satisfied with the modifications made to comply with his direction are available for inspection at the following locations, The Council Offices, Catherine Street, Whitehaven, Cumbria CA28 7NY, and The Council Centre, St. Georges Road, Millom, Cumbria LA18 4DD, Monday to Thursday, 8.45 a.m. to 5.15 p.m.; Friday, 8.45 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. The proposals came into operation on their adoption. A person aggrieved by proposals who desires to question their validity on the ground that they are not within the powers conferred by Part II of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, or that any requirement of that Act or any regulation made under it has not been complied with in relation to the adoption of the proposals, may, within 6 weeks from 22nd January 1998, make an application to the High Court under section 287 of the 1990 Act.
