Notice of application for consent for the purposes of section 88
Notice is hereby given, in accordance with Schedule 10 of the Water Resources Act 1991, that an application has been made to the Environment Agency by Union Railways Limited for consent to discharge 12,960 cubic metres per day of trade effluent comprising dewatering water from construction works at Jamesbrow Ltd., 3-13 Hepscott Road, London, the Hertford Union Canal at National Grid Reference TQ 371 843. Details of the proposal are contained in the register held by the Agency at its office in Reading. The register is held at Kings Meadow House, Kings Meadow Road, Reading, Berkshire, and may be inspected, free of charge, from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. Inquiries by telephone (direct line (0118) 953 5426) may be made between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday to Friday inclusive. Any person who wishes to make representations or objections with respect to the application should do so, in writing, to the North East Area Water Quality Consenting Team Leader, Environment Agency, Thames Region, Apollo Court, 2 Bishops Square, Hatfield Business Park, St. Albans Road West, Hatfield, Hertfordshire AL10 9PW, quoting NE/53/TE/10/MT. The Environment Agency is committed to maintaining and, where possible, improving water quality. If, after full consideration of this application and any representations made by interest parties, it is decided that consent can be given, then conditions will be imposed to ensure that the effluent receives treatment before discharge to the receiving waters so that the above aims are met.
