The Taunton Deane Borough (Bridgwater Road, Bathpool) (40 m.p.h. Speed Limit) Order 1997

Notice is hereby given that on 14th January 1998, Taunton Deane Borough Council made an Order under sections 84(1) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be:

  (a) to impose a 30 m.p.h. speed limit along the A38 Bridgwater Road, Bathpool, from a point approximately 15 metres north of the Creech Castle Junction to a point approximately 240 metres north-east of its junction with Milton Hill, a distance of approximately 1,170 metres; and
  (b) to impose a 40 m.p.h. speed limit along the A38 Bridgwater Road, Bathpool, from a point approximately 1,170 metres from its junction with Milton Hill northwards to a point approximately 260 metres north of its junction with Britons Ash.

  The Order will come into operation on 1st February 1998. A copy of the Order and map showing the location of the roads may be inspected at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, Taunton, during normal office hours.
  Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provisions contained therein, on the grounds that they were not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks from 23rd January 1998, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
