Continuation of the Night Time Ban on Motor Vehicles entering Becmead Avenue

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth, on 23rd January 1998, made the Lambeth (Prescribed Route) (No. 1) Traffic Order 1988 under section 6 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, so as to continue in force indefinitely the provisions of the Lambeth (Prescribed Routes) (No. 1) Experimental Traffic Order 1996.   The general nature and effect of the Order will be to continue to prohibit motor vehicles in Garrad’s Road and Streatham High Road from entering Becmead Avenue between 8 p.m. on any one day and 4 a.m. on the following day, unless the vehicle requires access to any land or premises situated in Becmead Avenue or accessible from Becmead Avenue or the vehicle is parked in Becmead Avenue or in a road accessible from Becmead Avenue.   A copy of the Order, which will come into force on 26th January 1998, and of documents giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available for inspection in the Council’s offices at Courtenay House, 9-15 New Park Road, London S.W.2, between 9.30 a.m. and 4.30 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays until the last day of the period of 6 weeks beginning with the date on which the Order is made.   If any person wishes to question the validity of the Order or of any of its provisions on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under that Act has not been complied with, that person may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order is made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
