Stopping-up of Highways at Workington, Cumbria
The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that on application of Allerdale Borough Council, he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Cumbria) (No. 1) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of a footpath running between Nos. 87-89 Wastwater Avenue, a footpath fronting Nos. 96-102 Grasmere Avenue, part of Crummock Road and a footpath at the rear of properties on Crummock Road, at Workington. Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for the North West (Transport), Sunley Tower, Piccadilly Plaza, Manchester M1 4BE, (quoting Ref. GO/TNW 5049/35/1/27) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Allerdale Borough Council, Allerdale House, Workington. Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may within 6 weeks of 23rd January 1998 apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision containted therein.
