Conversion of Parking Bays—Southbridge Place and The Waldrons

Notice is hereby given that the Council of the London Borough of Croydon propose to make the above-titled Traffic Order under sections 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Local Government Act 1985, and the Road Traffic Regulation (Parking) Act 1986.   The general effect of the Croydon (West) (Parking Places) (No. 1) Order 1993 (Amendment No. ) Traffic Order 199  would be to convert the designated ‘pay and display’ parking bays in Southbridge Place from 4 hour parking bays to 2 hour parking bays and the conversion of 8 hour parking bays to 4 hour parking bays in The Waldrons.   A copy of the proposed Order and of all related Orders, of the Council’s statement of reasons for proposing to make the Order and of a map which indicates the length of road to which the proposed Order relates, can be inspected for a period of 28 days from the date of this notice during normal office hours on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at the Enquiry Counter, “One Stop” Facility, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, Surrey.   Further information may be obtained by telephoning the Public Services and Works Department, London Borough of Croydon, on 0181 686 4433, extension 4972.   The Councillors for this Ward are Chris Allen, Marilyn Allen and Charlie Burling.   Persons desiring to object to the proposed Order should send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to the Ordermaking Section, Public Services and Works Department, Room 15-07, Taberner House, Park Lane, Croydon, quoting the reference TH/JAA/WCPZ, within the aforementioned period of 28 days.   The proposed Order is intended to reduce the maximum length of stay of the parking bays in Southbridge Place and The Waldrons, South Croydon, from 4 hours to 2 hours and 8 hours to 4 hours respectively, to promote more efficient use of parking space for residential users.
