The Haringey (Trunk Roads) Red Route (Bus Lanes) Traffic Order 1998

The Traffic Director for London has been given a direction by the Secretary of State for Transport under section 58(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1991, to implement Trunk Road Local Plans in the London Borough of Haringey.   The Traffic Director for London on 17th November 1997 made The Haringey (Trunk Roads) Red Route (Bus Lanes) Traffic Order 1998.   The general nature and effect of the Order will be to continue in force the currently marked bus lanes on the roads contained in the Order with new provisions which will restrict stopping in the bus lanes, bring the bus lane controls within the context of the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 1994, and assist enforcement of the bus lane controls.   The roads affected by the Order are the High Road Wood Green (A105), Green Lanes (A105 and A106), High Road, Tottenham (A1010), High Road Turnpike Lane (A105) and Muswell Hill Road (B550) in the London Borough of Haringey.   A copy of the Order, which will come into operation on 2nd February 1998, can be inspected until the end of 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, between 9 a.m. and 4.45 p.m. on Mondays to Fridays inclusive, at The Traffic Director for London, College House, Great Peter Street, London SW1P 3LN, and The Legal Service, Alexandra House, 10 Station Road, Wood Green N22 4TR.   Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any relevant regulations made thereunder have not been complied with in relation to the Order may, within 6 weeks of the date on which the Order was made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
