TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for Transport hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (County of Leicestershire) (No. 1) Order 1998”, authorising the stopping-up of lengths of highway adjacent to 82 Turner Road, Leicester, as detailed below:   (a) a length of highway adjacent to the front of 82 Turner Road, measuring a maximum distance of 9 metres; and   (b) a length of highway of Hallaton Road, adjacent to the northern side of 82 Turner Road, measuring 1 metre in length.   The stopping-up is authorised only in order to enable the development described in the Schedule to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted to J. R. Healey, by Leicester City Council on 30th July 1997, under Ref. 970723.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, by applying to the Government Office for the East Midlands, Transport, The Belgrave Centre, Stanley Place, Talbot Street, Nottingham NG1 5GG (quoting Ref. No. EMCM 506435/1/194), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the Leicester City Council, New Walk Centre, Welford Place, Leicester.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or that any requirement of that Act, or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 2nd February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
