The Stopping-up of Highways (Park Street and Regent Street, Bangor, Gwynedd) Order 1998
The Secretary of State for Wales hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, to authorise the stopping-up of the lengths of highway described in Schedule 1 to this notice. The stopping-up is authorised only in order to enable the development described in Schedule 2 to this notice to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted by Gwynedd Council on 3rd September 1997, under Ref. C 97A/0314/11/CL. The Order shall cease to have effect upon cessation of the planning permission. Copies of the Order and the deposited plan may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at Gwynedd Council, Town Hall, Bangor, Gwynedd, or may be obtained, free of charge, from the address, quoting Ref. ZC510-5-44-2. If any person desires to question the validity of the Order, or any of the provisions contained therein, on the grounds: (a) that it is not within the powers of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990; or (b) that their interests have been substantially prejudiced by a failure to comply with any of the requirements of the Act, he may, within 6 weeks of 4th February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein. Schedule 1
Description of the lengths of highway to be stopped up under this Order
The highways to be stopped up are at Bangor, in the county of Gwynedd. They are shown by zebra hatching on the deposited plan and are: (a) the unclassified highway including footway known as Park Street, in its entirety, from its junction with Deiniol Street to its junction with Penrallt Road; (b) the unclassified highway including footway known as Regent Street, in its entirety, from its junction with Deiniol Street to its junction with Penrallt Road.
Schedule 2
The development consists of the construction of new accommodation for the School of Psychology, University of Wales, Bangor, and the provision of parking.
