Notices under the Trustee Act 1925
HARCOURT BRACE & COMPANY PENSION FUND
(Previously called Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Pension Fund, and The Academic Pension Fund)
Notice under section 27 of the Trustee Act 1925
This notice concerns you if you are an employee or former employee of Harcourt Brace
& Company Limited (formerly called Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Limited and Academic
Press Inc. (London) Limited), Academic Books Limited, Johnson Reprint Company Limited,
or widow/widower, child or other, dependent of such employee or former employee.
The Harcourt Brace & Company Pension Fund (“the Fund”) is being wound up. This
means that the Trustees of the Fund need to establish exactly who are the beneficiaries
of the Fund, and their entitlements to benefits, so that the Trustees can arrange
for the assets of the Fund to be used to provide pensions and benefits due to the
beneficiaries.
The Trustees have already written to all of the Members and beneficiaries of the
Fund for whom they have records. If you have not already received a letter from the
Trustees and you have, or think that you may have, a right to benefit under the Fund,
you should write to P. Scott, Harcourt Brace & Company Limited, 26-28 Oval Road, London
NW1 7DX, within 2 months from date of issue of this notice after which date the Trustees
of the Fund will proceed to apply all the remaining assets of the Fund in securing
the liabilities attributable to the persons so entitled.
If you have not recently been written to by the Trustees and do not notify the
Trustees of your possible rights to benefits within 2 months of the date of this notice
you will lose any rights you may have to claim those benefits and the Trustees will
not be liable for any sums so applied to any person or persons of whose claims or
demands they have not had notice.
C. J. Schmer, Chairman of the Trustees
