Notice of applications for licences to abstract water

Take notice that Wyelands Estates Ltd., c/o Newlands, Portwall House, Chepstow, Monmouthshire, JPP Whittingham & Sons, Great Tyrmynach, Raglan, Monmouthshire, St. Merryn Meat Ltd., 9 Cooksland Industrial Estate, Bodmin, Cornwall, are applying to the Environment Agency for licences to abstract water from Carboniferous Limestone at National Grid Reference ST 525 920 (Wyelands, Pwllmeyric, Chepstow), Sandstone at National Grid Reference SO 398 083, Coal Measures at National Grid Reference SO 081 086 (Pengarnddu Industrial Estate, Merthyr Tydfil, Mid. Glamorgan).   The proposals are to abstract water at the following rates: 19 cubic metres per day, 6,935 cubic metres per year, for agriculture, 36 cubic metres per day, 6,715 cubic metres per year for agriculture, 200 cubic metres per day, 73,000 cubic metres per year for industrial use.   Copies of the applications and any maps, plans and other documents submitted with them may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Portwall House, Chepstow, Great Tyrmynach, Raglan, St. Merryn Meat Ltd., Pengarnddu Industrial Estate, Merthyr Tydfil, between 12th February and 12th March 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about any of the applications should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, Rivers House, St. Mellons Business Park, St. Mellons, Cardiff, before the end of the said period.
