The Borough of Watford (West Watford Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that, the Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for the Hertfordshire County Council, proposes to make the above-mentioned Order under sections 1, 2, 4, 32 and 35 and Part II and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order would be to:   1. Reduce the extent of the existing prohibition of waiting at any time from 15 to 10 metres at the following junctions:    Belgrave Avenue, both sides, at its junction with Hagden Lane;    Belgrave Avenue, both sides, at its junction with Queens Avenue;    Benskin Road, both sides, at its junction with Hagden Lane;    Benskin Road, both sides, at its junction with Harwoods Road;    Brightwell Road, both sides, at its junction with Hagden Lane;    Brightwell Road, both sides, at its junction with Harwoods Road;    Chester Road, both sides, at its junction with Queens Avenue;    Chester Road, both sides, south-west of its junction with Harwoods Road;    Holywell Road, both sides, at its junction with Hagden Lane;    Holywell Road, both sides, at its junction with Harwoods Road;    Kelmscot Crescent, north-west side, at its eastern junction with Hagden Lane.   2. Reduce the extent of the existing prohibition of waiting at any time at the following locations:    Euston Avenue, north-west side, reduce to 15 metres at its junction with Hagden Lane;    Euston Avenue, north-west side, reduce to 30 metres at its junction with Whippendell Road;    Euston Avenue, south-east side, reduce to 25 metres at its junction with Hagden Lane;    Eustons Avenue, south-east side, reduce to 25 metres at its junction with Whippendell Road;    Greenhill Crescent, eastern arm, north side, reduce to 15 metres from its junction with the main section of the road;    Kelmscot Crescent, south-east side, reduce to 13 metres at its eastern junction with Hagden Lane;    Queens Avenue, south-west side, reduce to 18 metres north-west of its junction with Whippendell Road;    Whippendell Road, south side, reduce to 15 metres each side of its junction with Sydney Road.   3. Prohibit waiting at any time for a distance of 10 metres on Hagden Lane, east side, at its junction with Belgrave Avenue.   4. Extend the existing prohibition of waiting at any time at the following locations:    Greenhill Crescent, east side, additional 70 metres opposite the car park;    Hagden Lane, east side, additional 6 metres south of its junction with Euston Avenue;    Hagden Lane, west side, additional 18 metres south of its junction with Whippendell Road;   5. Prohibit waiting at any time at the following locations;    Caxton Way, both sides, for 15 metres at its northern junction with Greenhill Crescent;    Faraday Close, both sides, for 15 metres at its junction with Greenhill Crescent;    Greenhill Crescent, west side, for 15 metres south from its junction with Faraday Close;    Greenhill Crescent, west side, for 15 metres each side of its junction with Caxton Way;    Hagden Lane, both sides, for 30 metres around the bend at the entrance of Holm Oak Park;    Wiggenhall Road, south-west side, for 15 metres north of its junction with Cardiff Road.   6. Revise existing restriction of waiting Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., so as to prohibit waiting at any time on Sydney Road (both sides) for 21 metres from its junction with Hagden Lane.   7. Revise existing prohibition of waiting at any time to restrict waiting Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., at the following locations:    Hagden Lane, west side, 8 metres outside nos. 101 a -103;    Rickmansworth Road, north side, between its junction with Gade Avenue and a point 15 metres east of its junction with Queen Marys Avenue;    Rickmansworth Road, south side, between a point 75 metres west of its junction with Maythorne Close and a point 15 metres east of its junction with Cassiobridge Road;    Whippendell Road, south side, between points 44 and 147 metres east of its junction with Hagden Lane.   8. Reduce the extent of the existing restriction of waiting, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., from 15 to 10 metres at the following junctions:    Cassiobridge Road, both sides, at its junction with Whippendell Road;    Hagden Lane, east side, south of the junction with Princes Avenue;    Princes Avenue, both sides, at its junction with Hagden Lane.   9. Introduce new restriction of waiting, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., for a distance of 10 metres at the following junctions:    Harwoods Road, south-west side, each side of its junction with Kensington Avenue;    Kensington Avenue, both sides, at its junction with Harwoods Road;    Kensington Avenue, both sides, at its junction with Queens Avenue;    Princes Avenue, both sides, each side of its junction with Queens Avenue;    Queens Avenue, both sides, each side of its junction with Princes Avenue.   10. Introduce new restriction of waiting, Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., on Greenhill Crescent (east side), between points 134 and 376 metres south of the junction with the eastern arm.   11. Introduce new restriction of waiting, Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., on The Roundway (both sides) for the whole length of the road, excluding the parking bays.   12. Remove existing restriction of waiting, Monday to Saturday, 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., on Whippendell Road between Queens Avenue and Harwoods Road.   13. All other existing restrictions in this area will remain unchanged.   Details of the proposals are set out in the draft Order, which together with the relevant map and a statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order, may be examined during normal office hours at the One Stop Shop, Town Hall, Watford.
