TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990
The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that on the application of the Newbury District Council, he proposes to make an Order under section 249 of the above Act to provide for the extinguishment of any right which persons may have to use vehicles on part of Lawrences Lane, Dunston Park, Thatcham, in the Royal County of Berkshire. The proposed Order will contain provisions for only permitting the use of that highway where the vehicle is a pedal cycle with four wheels or fewer and not being a mechanically propelled vehicle. During the 28 days from 26th February 1998 copies of the draft Order and relevant plan may be inspected at the Newbury District Council, Council Offices, Market Street, Newbury, Berkshire RG14 5LD, and may be obtained, free of charge, from the Government Office for the South East, Head of Transport West (quoting reference GOSE/029/002/BERK/001) at the address stated below. During the above-mentioned period of 28 days, anyone may object to the making of the Order by writing to the Secretary of State quoting reference GOSE/029/002/BERK/001, and addressing their objection to The Head of Transport West, Government Office for the South East, Bridge House, 1 Walnut Tree Close, Guildford, Surrey GU1 4GA. In the preparation of an objection it should be borne in mind that the substance of any objection may be communicated to the applicant and other people who may be affected by it.
