TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-up of Highways (London Borough of Tower Hamlets) (No. 4) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of the whole of Steward Street between Spital Square and the northern side of Brushfield Street, the whole of Nantes Passage, a length of Spital Square and an adjoining length of Lamb Street, a part of the northern footway of Lamb Street and length of the northern footway and a part of the adjoining carriageway of Brushfield Street, London E.1. The Order also requires improvements to Brushfield Street by widening.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for London, Transport Management Division 8/W19 Riverwalk House, 157-161 Millbank, London SW1P 4RR, (quoting, Ref. LRO 34/E5900/1/087), and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, 3rd Floor, Mulberry Place, 5 Clove Crescent, London E.14, and at the offices of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, 60 Southern Grove, Mile End, London E.C.3.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of the 27th February 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
