The Taunton Deane Borough (Barlinch Close, Taunton) (Prohibition of Driving) Order 1998

Notice is hereby given that Taunton Deane Borough Council on 18th February 1998, made an Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4(2) and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit the driving/riding of motor vehicles along Barlinch Close from its junction with Eastwick Road, Taunton, to its junction with Pickeridge Close, Taunton, a distance of approximately 102 metres.   Exemptions will be made in the Order to enable local residents to gain access to their premises and to permit emergency services vehicles.   The order will come into operation on 30th April 1998. A copy of the Order and map showing the location of the road may be inspected at The Deane House, Belvedere Road, Taunton, during normal office hours.   Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order or of any provisions contained therein, on the grounds that they were not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any Instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks from 27th February 1998, apply to the High Court for this purpose.
