Stopping-up of a Highway

Notice is hereby given that Hartlepool Borough Council, the Highway Authority, intends to apply to the Magistrates’ Court, sitting at the Law Courts, Victoria Road, Hartlepool, on 1st April 1998, at 10 a.m., for an Order pursuant to section 116 of the Highways Act 1980, that those lengths of highway referred to in the Schedule hereto be stopped-up on the ground that they are unnecessary. A copy of a plan (drawing number M49.135) showing those parts of the highway to be stopped up may be inspected, free of charge, during normal office hours at the Legal Division of the Chief Executive’s Department, Civic Centre, Victoria Road, Hartlepool. Schedule

Liverpool Close (Part)   The following lengths of highway:   (1) The square area to the rear of 1 and 2 Clearpool Close, being approximately 22 metres long by 13 metres deep, together with the connecting footpaths which run between (a) 16 and 17 Millpool Close and (b) 3 Clearpool Close and 12 Millpool Close.   (a) above commences at back of footpath on Millpool Close and runs in an easterly direction for approximately 17.5 metres and is generally 1.5 metres in width.   (b) above commences at the rear of 3 Millpool Close and runs in an easterly direction for approximately 11 metres, being generally 2 metres in width.   (2) The footpath to the side of 3 Clearpool Close, linking Millpool Close to Clearpool Close, being irregular in shape but running in a generally north/south direction for approximately 33 metres.   (3) The footway in Clearpool Close, outside the rear of 10 and 11 Millpool Close, which runs in a westerly direction for a distance of approximately 10.5 metres, commencing at the rear boundary of 41 Troutpool Close and being generally 2 metres in width.   (4) The footway in Clearpool Close, located at the rear of 39 to 41 Troutpool Close, running in a southerly direction for approximately 27.5 metres, commencing at the northerly kerb-line of Clearpool Close and being 2 metres in width.   (5) The section of carriageway in Clearpool Close at its easterly extremity commencing at the easterly kerb-line, and extending over its full width of approximately 10.5 metres in a westerly direction for approximately 4.5 metres.   (6) The footway on the southern side of (5) above extending over the same distance and being approximately 1.5 metres in width.   (7) A roughly triangular section of footway at the junction of Clearpool Close and Millpool Close being approximately 5 metres wide and 5 metres deep.   (8) An irregularly shaped section of footway and adjoining carriageway on Clearpool Close generally opposite 3 Clearpool Close being approximately 7 metres long and 3.5 metres deep. 18th February 1998.
