The A34 Trunk Road (Huntington, Staffordshire) (Derestriction and 40 miles per hour speed limit) Order 19

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that he proposes to make an Order under sections 82(2), 83(1) and 84(1)(a) and (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 on lengths of the A34 Trunk Road at Huntington in Staffordshire.   The effect of the Order would be to:   (a) remove the 30 miles per hour speed limit automatically imposed by the provision of street lighting on the length of the A34 Trunk Road between points 150 metres north and 1161 metres north of its junction with Broadhurst Green Road and restore the national speed limit of 60 miles per hour, and   (b) impose a 40 mile per hour speed limit on the length of the A34 Trunk Road between points 347 metres north of its junction with Oak Avenue and 150 metres north of its junction with Broadhurst Green Road.   A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan illustrating the proposal and a statement of the Secretary of State’s reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Staffordshire County Council, Martin Street, Stafford; South Staffordshire District Council, Council Offices, Codsall, South Staffordshire; or obtained by application to the Highways Agency, Network and Customer Services (Midland), Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL.   Any person wishing to object to the proposed Order should write to the Highways Agency at the above address stating the grounds of objection by a date not later than 26th March 1998, quoting Ref. 5074/28/2/A34/01.
