Notice of application for a licence to abstract water

Take notice that Marple Golf Club Ltd., of Barnsfold Road, Marple, Stockport, Cheshire SK6 7EL, is applying to the Environment Agency for a licence to abstract water from a borehole at National Grid Reference 9548 8750 at Marple Golf Club, Barnsfold Road, Marple, Stockport.   The proposal is to abstract water at the following rates: 8 cubic metres per hour, 70 cubic metres per day, 10,000 cubic metres between March and October each year. The water will be used for irrigating the golf course.   A copy of the application and any map, plans and other documents submitted with it may be inspected, free of charge, at all reasonable hours at Marple Golf Club, Barnsfold Road, Marple, Stockport, between 4th March 1998 and 4th May 1998.   Any person who wishes to make representations about the application should do so in writing to the Environment Agency, PO Box 12, Richard Fairclough House, Knutsford Road, Warrington WA4 1HG, before the end of the said period.
