The Stopping-Up of Highways (County of Essex) (No. 4) Order 1998

The Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions hereby gives notice that, on the application of R. Hughes he has made an Order under section 247 of the above Act entitled “The Stopping-Up of Highways (County of Essex) (No. 4) Order 1998” authorising the stopping-up of highway land, fronting Braeburn Farm, Colchester Road, Chappel, Colchester, Essex to enable development consisting of the change of use of highway land to domestic curtilage to be carried out in accordance with the planning permission granted under Part III of the Act to R. Hughes, by Colchester Borough Council, on 15th October 1997, under reference COL/97/1312.   Copies of the Order may be obtained, free of charge, on application to the Government Office for Eastern Region (Planning and Transport), Room 135, Heron House, 49-53 Goldington Road, Bedford MK40 3LL (quoting GT/A1530/35/1/25) and may be inspected at all reasonable hours at the offices of Colchester Borough Council, Highways and Engineering Services, Angel Court, High Street, Colchester, Essex and at the address of the Clerk to Chappel Parish Council, Brook Hall, Chappel, Colchester, Essex.   Any person aggrieved by the Order and desiring to question the validity thereof, or of any provision contained therein, on the ground that it is not within the powers of the above Act, or that any requirement of that Act or of any regulation made thereunder has not be complied with in relation to the Order, may, within 6 weeks of 10th March 1998, apply to the High Court for the suspension or quashing of the Order or of any provision contained therein.
